Computing and Digital Lecturer (Blackpool and Fylde College, January 2022 – Present): In my current role at Blackpool and Fylde College, I serve as a Computing and Digital Lecturer, where I passionately educate students in the realms of computing and digital technologies.

Supply Teacher (Tower Supply, October 2021 – December 2021): During my tenure at Tower Supply, from October to December 2021, I worked as a Supply Teacher, gaining diverse teaching experiences.

Supply Tutor (Digital Lecturer / Computing Lecturer) (Hugh Baird College, February 2020 – October 2021): At Hugh Baird College, I was a Supply Tutor specialising in Digital and Computing education, covering various teaching positions as needed.

Web Designer and IT Services Provider (Reverant IT, 2010 – 2022): From 2010 to 2022, I operated as a web designer and provided various IT services through Reverant IT. During this time, I worked on designing websites and offering a range of IT solutions.

Network Manager (Lancashire County Council, June 2014 – August 2017): As the Network Manager at Lancashire County Council from June 2014 to August 2017, I was responsible for managing and maintaining the network infrastructure as well as managing new projects.

IT Technician (Fylde Coast YMCA, 2009 – 2013): I served as an IT Technician at Fylde Coast YMCA from 2009 to 2013, where I was involved in various IT-related responsibilities and support tasks.

Education

PGCE in Computing (Awarded by Edge Hill University, August 2017): I completed my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Computing at Edge Hill University in August 2017. This program deepened my understanding of computer science and equipped me with the skills needed to be an effective educator in this field. It was a transformative experience that allowed me to combine my passion for computing with teaching, enabling me to inspire the next generation of tech enthusiasts.

BSc Hons in Information Technology (Awarded by Lancaster University, August 2011): In August 2011, I proudly received my Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours degree in Information Technology from Lancaster University. This comprehensive program covered a wide range of IT topics, from software development to network management. It provided me with a solid foundation in the ever-evolving world of technology and prepared me for a successful career in the IT industry.

HNC in Computer Programming (Awarded by Blackpool & Fylde College, City & Guilds, August 2002): My journey into the world of technology began in August 2002 when I completed my Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Computer Programming at Blackpool & Fylde College, accredited by City & Guilds. This program gave me my first taste of programming languages, software development, and problem-solving in the digital realm. It marked the beginning of my exciting adventure in the field of computers and programming.

From swimming in lakes to bedtime stories, being a dad has been the most rewarding role I’ve ever taken on. With a solid foundation in network and project management, I spent four years working as a Network and Project Manager for Lancashire County Council. During this time, I honed my skills in overseeing complex projects, ensuring efficient network operations, and managing teams to deliver outstanding results. This experience has instilled in me the importance of meticulous planning, effective communication, and adaptability in the ever-evolving landscape of technology and government administration.

As a software developer, I’ve had the privilege of turning ideas into reality through lines of code. My primary focus has been on web development, specialising in languages like C# and Python. I’ve spent countless hours designing and crafting user-friendly web applications that provide solutions and enhance user experiences. The thrill of writing code and seeing it come to life is what keeps me hooked on this fascinating journey.

Currently, I’m embracing another exciting role – that of a teacher. I’m part of an affiliate university of Lancaster University, where I get to share my knowledge and experience with eager minds. Guiding future tech enthusiasts and helping them nurture their passion for technology is incredibly rewarding. It’s a privilege to inspire the next generation of software engineers and project managers, imparting not only technical knowledge but also the problem-solving mindset and adaptability required to thrive in the dynamic world of IT.
